9:30-10am   We’ll have a special start with Gospel Music from Cantor Jen Rolnick, "Cornbread and Matzo Balls”: David Goldstein and Marty Austin Lamar.

10-10:30am        Options:

  • "Cornbread and Matzo Balls" is a joint project between David Goldstein, Musician and Composer Marty Austin Lamar along with Percussionist Reggie Truxon.  They seek to deliver a Jewish prayer experience and spiritual connection through Gospel music stylings. Come learn a piece with us to perform together at the conclusion of services!  
     
  • ”Building Holy Spaces”  with Rabbi Jessy Gross.  Engage in texts and conversation around building our Mishkan - the holy ark and how it translates to creating holy spaces in our midst today.  Rabbi Jessy Gross is the Senior Director of the Center for Jewish Life at the JCC of Greater Baltimore. 
     
  • Make Friendship Soup Kits!  Help build a bag of ingredients which will be donated to those in need.  Recipients will be able to just add water, boil, and serve a soup full of nutrition.
     
  • Torah Yoga.  Stretch your body and soul in this workshop with  licenced yoga instructor and Jewish Educator, Yael Turkel!  Morah Turkel has been teaching at Beth Israel for over 20 years and now brings another element of connection to Judaism in our spiritual home.
     
  • Torah Service.  Our Shabbat morning service will continue as normal in the David Phillip Gresser Sanctuary.
     

10:30-11      Options:

  • Torah Meditation with Cantor Eisenberg.  Relax your mind and engage your spirit with chants and meditations from the Torah.
     
  • ”Our Passover Today” Text study with Rabbi Marc Blatt.  Ready or not, Pesach is coming!  Get yourself prepared by discussing how the lessons of Passover are applied to our lives in the 21st century.
     
  • Torah Service.  Our Shabbat morning service will continue as normal in the David Phillip Gresser Sanctuary.
     

11-12noon   D’var Tefillah from Cantor Jen Rolnick, Musaf, and Adults and Children presenting songs from "Cornbread and Matzo Balls"

Kindergarten through 7th Graders:

  • 9:30am  Meet in the Chapel for a Musical Shacharit Service!
     
  • 10am-11:40am  Programming according to grade including singing with “Cornbread and Matzo Balls”, Torah Yoga, Parsha Plays, Making jumping frogs, and more!
     
  • 11:40am  We’ll join the congregation to share the songs we’ve learned and conclude service together! Students can be picked up at the conclusion of services in the Social Hall.
     

Kids age 6 and under:

  • 10am   Help us carry around the Torahs as we take them out of the ark in the David Phillip Gresser Sanctuary
     
  • 10:15am  Sing, Dance, and Play!  Kids and their grownups love Shababa with Shirley the Shabbat Fairy in the Library
     
  • 11:15-11:45am  Playtime!  Parents are welcome to bring their kids to play on the cars, scooters and bikes in the Multipurpose Room.
     
  • 11:45am  Students are welcome to join us on the bimah to lead Kiddush and Hamotzi before a delicious Mac and Cheese lunch!
